Thank you for such spirited readings of one of my favorite books!  I also really love hearing a midwestern accent again.  I was raised in St. Louis and the outlying burbs until I was 12, and then my mom and I moved east and i haven't been back since!  Your voice makes me feel both homesick and at home at once.  I wish you the best on your MD struggles.  My boss was recently diagnosed, and I will forward her the link to your site.  I am sorry to hear that the summers there are still unrelenting, but I kind of miss them.  Boston "summer" makes me laugh.  Thanks again and good luck with those socks!
