Hi Annie - I have just listened to Huck Finn - it was the best audio book reading I have ever heard. I am from England and have never read any of Mark Twain's work, so this was just fantastic. I laughed so many times and yes the butter melting under his hat was so funny I'm not surprised you couldn't help cracking up. The book is great, but your interpretation made it come to life. I listened to the entire story in 2 days - I just couldn't stop! Pride and Prejudice was my favorite book at college, and I read it 8 times straight. You did a great job with that one too, but you excelled with "Huck". I hope you are feeling well, good luck with everything. Tom Sawyer please! Take care Annie Linda

Thank you so much for reading Pride and Prejudice. I have listened to it so many times over the last three months (since I downloaded it) that I now know most of it by heart! I love your accent (I'm from England) and I usually listen to it in the car or in bed. It is just the thing to while away the long car journeys we have recently been going on.

Shame I didn't know you did Pride and Prejudice too... I've just listened to some other version with readers changing every other chapter... (still it was quite good ;) )

I'm listening to Pride and Prejudice right now and it's very enjoyable, but please note the following corrected pronunciation: "Taciturn" is not properly pronounced "tack-it-turn" but instead it is "tass-i-turn". Thanks, Jason

I also stumbled upon your podcasting channel and decided to try out "Anne of Green Gable". It's been a very long time since I enjoy such a classic. I just don't know how to express my gratutide! It's a little difficult for me to find the MP3 of my favourite foreign novel-Pride And Predujice. And I am so surprised to find it here! You may not know that it's so useful to a Chinese girl with poor English who want to pratice listening skill. been listening to your "anne of green gables" on a very long road trip.  Kids were all into it big time and would recite the beginning along with you :)  When we got to the first chapter you didn't read of "anne of avonlea" the interest died quite a bit.  Anyway, my 3 year old is running around the hotel with "double u double u dot annie coleman dot com" as her little internal drummer as she is singing it and dancing around.    nice work. ;)

Listen to your liberVox recordings regularly.  You have a talent.  I also am a member of Audible.com. and enjoy listening to their selection regularly, even if they cost money.

 

You have a rare and wonderful talent.  In fact, your recordings are as good as, if not better than the professionals paid by Audible.

Thank you for the Pride and Prejudice reading. I PERTICULARLY enjoyed the occasional sound of, what I can only assume are ringtones, in the background... No, really. I think I recognised one tune. On a serious note, the recording is helping me revise for my Pride and Prejudice exam so I am incredibly grateful.

Hi Annie, I'd like to thank you so much for podcasting the book Anne of Green Gables years ago... And I must say that Anne (of Green Gables) and you both saved me from drowning this December last. You see, the holiday season is a difficult time for many people and this past Christmas and New Years eve was specially hard on me. I experienced a month of deep sadness and a great feeling of loss, and the only thing that made me forget my sorrows was your reading of Anne. Thank you ever so much! I am in tears just now with the last chapter of it as I usually am with the end of a novel. You have the sweetest of voices and a great talent for reading, the way you give voice to those characters is marvelous. I now from your blog you aren't reading anything at that moment, but please, do not stop for good... If you saved me, you might have given a lot of pleasure to so many other people!
